TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka Police Department is partnering with Historic Harley-Davidson to offer a Biker Basics Training event on Saturday.

The training will be this Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2047 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66612.

The Topeka Police Department’s Motorcycle Unit will provide hands-on safety training and best practices for operating a motorcycle in real-world conditions as the weather gets warmer.

Participants are encouraged to bring their motorcycles to train alongside experienced officers.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for riders to sharpen their skills and learn important safety techniques,” said Topeka Police Chief Chris Vallejo. “As motorcycle traffic increases in the spring and summer, we want to do everything we can to help riders stay safe on the road.”

The event is free to attend and includes lunch, provided by Historic Harley-Davidson, but space is limited. To reserve a spot, call Lexie at Harley-Davidson at 785-581-6943.
