TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Pavement marking work on I-70 is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 28, conditions permitting. According to a press release from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), the 5-mile project extends from approximately Valencia Road to Urish Road in Shawnee County. Both directions of I-70 will be striped, with traffic reduced to one lane where crews are actively working. Intermittent ramp closures will occur as needed, as message boards and signage will be in place to alert and guide motorists. Work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours and all lanes will be open during non-working hours. Cillessen and Sons, Inc., of Kechi, is the prime contractor on the $302,000 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of May, conditions permitting.
