HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was investigating a deputy-involved shooting Monday after deputies responded to a domestic violence victim’s call for help in Hillsborough County.Deputies' body-cam video showed the shooting on Sunday in a home in the Riverview neighborhood, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.Sheriff Chad Chronister said Manuel Alvarez had beat up his girlfriend and set things on fire before threatening deputies at the home along Lake Montauk Drive.“Come on up! I am going to shoot your [expletive],” Alvarez, 50, said according to deputies.Chronister said Alvarez pointed a gun at the deputy who shot him, and fire rescue personnel took him to the Tampa General Hospital.The Emmy Award-winning journalist joined the Local 10 News team in 2013.
