The third annual Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong is set to unfold on Friday, March 21 to Saturday, March 22 promising an array of visual and performing arts from keen students of the Scottsdale Unified School District. SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, will host the free two-day festival in collaboration with Arizona State University, the city of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Arts, and the SkySong development team. Featuring everything from student-delivered performances to hands-on arts activities provided by Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation, the event aims to stir the community's creative spirit. Attendees can anticipate engaging with interactive demonstrations by city departments, all while sampling a variety of local fare from food trucks peppering the SkySong campus. Six additional partner organizations, including the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and Scottsdale Community College, line up to augment the event's robust program, according to Scottsdale's announcement . Notably, the Scottsdale Community Partners will host the annual Alli Ortega Empty Bowls Fundraiser, featuring student-made bowls and an online auction to support city programs like the Vista del Camino Food Bank. Last year’s ArtsFest saw over 5,000 participants and raised north of $46,000 through this initiative as mentioned by the City of Scottsdale's press release . According to a city release , the festival kicks off on Friday at 5 p.m. with welcomes from SUSD Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel and other dignitaries, followed by a slew of performances on the Main Stage and Café Stage. SUSD choirs, bands, and orchestras will be bringing music to the iconic SkySong tent, beckoning guests to settle in for a student showcase that promises to be as educational as it is entertaining.
