Junior outfielder Ryan Taylor has been a key piece to the University of Pennsylvania baseball team’s offense during its seven-game winning streak.

Taylor, a St. Augustine Prep graduate and an Elmer, Salem County, resident, hit an RBI triple and an RBI single and scored twice in a 19-2 win over Lehigh. He hit a two-out double and then scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning of a 5-4 win over Harvard. He went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs in a 14-4 win over Harvard.

Penn (8-9) has won seven straight after starting the season 1-9. Taylor is second on the team in batting with a .328 average (21 for 64) to go with four doubles, three triples, a homer, 10 RBIs and 17 runs.

Josiah Ragsdale (St. Augustine) singled twice, drove in two runs and scored in Boston College’s 8-3 win over Sacred Heart. He tripled and scored in a 6-0 win over Northeastern.

Jackson Vanesko (St. Augustine) struck out five in five shutout innings to get the win for Bryant in an 11-0 victory over Harvard.

Jimmy Mantuano (St. Joseph) hit a solo home run and a two-run double in Fairleigh Dickinson’s 11-7 loss to Norfolk State. He hit a two-run single in a 17-4 win over Norfolk State. He hit a solo homer in a 6-0 win over Norfolk State.

Gannon Brady (Ocean City) allowed two runs and struck out one in three innings in relief and got the win for Fordham in a 9-6 victory over Maine.

CJ Egrie (Holy Spirit) singled and scored twice in Holy Cross’ 13-4 win over Lehigh. He went 3 for 6 with a double and an RBI in a 12-1 win over Lehigh. He hit a solo homer in a 6-5 win over Lafayette.

In New Jersey Institute of Technology’s 6-5 win over UMBC, Cole Campbell (Mainland Regional) singled, tripled and scored twice, and Holden deJong (St. Augustine) allowed a run and struck out five in two innings. In an 11-3 win over UMBC, Campbell doubled, scored twice and drove in a run.

Brock Mercado (St. Joseph) singled twice in UNC Asheville’s 5-2 loss to Wofford. He singled and scored twice in a 9-7 loss to Longwood.

Frankie Wright (Egg Harbor Township) struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning in Old Dominion’s 12-4 win over Georgia State.

Cohl Mercado (St. Joseph) singled twice and scored, and Ryan Wingartner (St. Augustine) added two hits and two runs in Penn State’s 10-5 win over St. Bonaventure.

Kyle Neri (St. Augustine) doubled and scored in Rider’s 5-2 win over Monmouth. In a 5-3 win over Merrimack, PJ Craig (Barnegat) allowed three runs and struck out eight in six innings in the no-decision, and Neri hit a double and a solo homer.

Brody McKenzie (St. Augustine) had a hit and two RBIs in Rhode Island’s 3-2 win over Stonehill. He hit a two-run single and scored in a 10-9 loss to George Washington.

Trevor Cohen (Holy Spirit) singled, doubled and scored in Rutgers’ 4-3 loss to Oregon. He had two hits and a run in an 8-0 win over Oregon.

JP Podgorski (St. Augustine) pitched two scoreless innings in relief and got the win in Villanova’s 3-2 victory over Princeton.

William Grayson (Oakcrest) allowed an unearned run and struck out two in three innings in relief and Lukas Torres (Barnegat) scored the winning run in the eighth inning of Wagner’s 6-5 win over Seton Hall. In a 13-10 win over Iona, Torres doubled and drove in two runs. In a 6-4 win over Coppin State, Torres singled and scored four runs.

Luis Sauri (Buena Regional) tripled, scored and drove in a run in Barton’s 7-6 win over Shorter.

Ryan Manning (Cedar Creek) hit an RBI triple and scored twice in East Stroudsburg’s 11-5 win over West Chester.

Evan Shoffler (Lower Cape May Regional) went 3 for 5 with a double and two runs in Shippensburg’s 17-5 win over Bloomsburg.

Mark Elliott (Mainland) singled twice, scored and drove in a run in West Chester’s 11-5 loss to East Stroudsburg. He singled and scored twice in a 5-3 win over ESU.

Blake Ramos (Millville) hit a two-run double and an RBI single in Delaware Valley’s 22-4 loss to DeSales.

Ethan Mitnick (Mainland) struck out three in three shutout innings to get the win in Gettysburg’s 13-3 victory over Stevenson.

Drew Haines (Hammonton) doubled and scored in Gwynedd Mercy’s 6-4 win over Gettysburg.

Michael Todaro (Lacey Township) allowed an unearned run and struck out six in 2 2/3 innings in relief to get the win in Montclair State’s 8-6 victory over Centenary.

Anthony Rakotz (Vineland) hit an RBI single and an RBI double and Josh Finger (Vineland) singled and scored in Neumann’s 17-8 loss to Albright. In a 14-7 win over PSU-Abington, Rakotz hit a two-run double, and Finger singled and scored twice.

Nick Danbrowney (Barnegat) allowed three hits and three walks and struck out 10 in a seven-inning complete game shut, a 3-0 win over DePauw.

Mason Dorsey (St. Augustine) hit a two-run double and an RBI single and scored three runs in Rowan’s 13-7 win over Amherst.

Dylan Oliver (Ocean City) struck out one in two scoreless innings to get the save in Rutgers-Camden’s 10-8 win over Ripon.

Wrestling



Rider sophomore Brock Zurawski (Lower Cape May) may have gone 1-2, but he made some noise at the NCAA Division I Tournament in Philadelphia. Zurawski, the 26th seed, upset seventh-seeded Wyatt Voelker (Northern Illinois) with a 5-2 sudden victory in the first round before dropping an 11-6 decision. He lost a 10-2 major decision in the consolations.
