VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man is badly hurt after a crash in Virginia Beach. Police confirm the man was walking on Newtown Road not far from Virginia Beach Boulevard when a vehicle hit him just before 9:00 p.m. We're told he was crossing Newtown Road when the collision happened. Medics rushed him to the hospital with very serious injuries.

Police say the driver who hit the man stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The Traffic Safety Unit spent part of Sunday night at the scene, blocking some lanes of traffic on Newtown Road for a short amount of time. At this point, no one is facing any criminal charges in relation to this crash.
