ALEXANDRIA, VA — A woman from Alexandria claimed a $443,343 jackpot while playing the Virginia Lottery’s online instant game The Lamp, marking her largest win to date.

The winner, Kendrea Linton, was playing on her personal device at home after work when she hit the progressive jackpot. She chose The Lamp as one of her regular games due to prior small wins and prefers the ease of online play through the Virginia Lottery’s platform.

The Lamp is among dozens of digital instant games offered on the Virginia Lottery’s app and website. The game features a growing jackpot and has odds of 1 in 3.55 for winning any prize.

Linton works in finance and intends to save the winnings for her retirement. She resides in Alexandria, a locality that received more than $5.2 million in Virginia Lottery funding for K-12 education during the last fiscal year.

In Fiscal Year 2024, the Virginia Lottery generated more than $934 million for public schools, accounting for about 10 percent of the state’s total K-12 education budget.
