Veteran cornerback Carlton Davis III already has two personal goals in mind for his run with the New England Patriots . He wants to earn his first Pro Bowl nod, and he also wants to be a player who is remembered in Foxborough. Both are lofty but achievable goals for the Patriots' 2025 free agent acquisition. "From a personal accolade standpoint, gain enough recognition to get into a Pro Bowl," said Davis, via an interview with the Patriots' social media team. "But I also want to be somebody that is remembered here in Foxborough, that people talk about years down the line and they say, 'He had a great impact on this team and this organization.' To be able to say that I helped them become champions again." Davis is one of the more respected corners in the NFL, which has generated plenty of excitement about his fit across from Patriots All-Pro corner Christian Gonzalez. He recorded 54 tackles, 11 past deflections and two interceptions with the Detroit Lions last season. He was a Super Bowl champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 season, and he hopes to help breathe postseason life back into the Patriots. At the very least, he'll form one of the most talented cornerback duos in all of football with Gonzalez.
