Emily Getman, 21, has pleaded guilty to charges of battery and property damage, resulting in a sentence of 24 months of probation in her home state of New York. The conditions of her probation include 34 days in Sangamon County jail as time served, financial restitution to Memorial Medical Center for the property damage, and an order to write an apology letter to Nurse Wampler within 30 days. On February 21, Springfield police received a report that Getman had traveled from New York to Springfield with the intent to kill her father. Officers were informed that she was in the vicinity of Goodwill on North Dirksen Parkway. Springfield Police located and stopped the vehicle, discovering Getman and her boyfriend, Dylan Romer, 29, inside. A search of the vehicle revealed a 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and multiple knives, police said. Following her arrest, Getman was taken to Memorial Medical Center and held under an involuntary admission.
