STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Firefighters who risk their lives will be able to stay in tip-top physical shape thanks to a recent donation made by Assemblyman Charles D. Fall and Steve Tanen, owner of Transformation Fitness Studio in Graniteville.

In a show of support for Staten Island’s first responders, Fall, a Democrat who represents the North Shore, and Tanen donated fitness equipment to FDNY Engine 157/Ladder 80 in Port Richmond.

“Our firefighters give everything they have — day in and day out —to protect our community,” said Fall in a press statement. “The work they do is physically and mentally demanding, requiring a level of strength and endurance that few truly understand. This donation is a small way to express our gratitude for their service and sacrifice for keeping us safe.”

Tanen, a fitness professional, highlighted the importance of physical training and conditioning for firefighters.

“I am honored to contribute to equipping our firefighters with the resources they need to train effectively, maintain their strength, and continue safeguarding our community,” he said.

Staten Island Trustee for the Uniformed Firefighters Association, Robert Unger, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying the generous donation exemplifies Tanen and Fall’s dedication to the fire department, Port Richmond, and the entire borough.
