WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Due to the forecasted threat of severe weather Monday evening, several events are being canceled across south-central Kansas.

El Dorado Public Schools has announced that its Virtual School graduation ceremony and eighth grade promotion had been postponed.

The USD 490 Virtual School graduation has been moved to Tuesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The eighth-grade promotion is also moved to Tuesday at 6 p.m. The after party will still take place tonight at Club Vaudeville, but the time has changed to 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The Wichita Police Department said its Citizen Police Academy graduation ceremony has also been postponed for the participants and their families. This event will be rescheduled for a later date, which will be communicated as soon as it is confirmed.
