Emporia High freshman Rylie Mitchell recorded her first career hat trick leading the Lady Spartans to a 6-0 victory over Wichita Classical on Tuesday night. Katie Smart got the Lady Spartans on the board in the 22th minute. Mitchell scored her goals in the 29th, 45th and 72nd minutes. Peyton Chanley scored her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute with Aracely Aleman adding her first of the season in the 79th minute. Mitchell said she couldn’t have recorded her hat trick without the help of her teammates.

Emporia High coach Oscar Macias was proud of how his team bounced back after a two-game slide.

Emporia High (5-4) travels to Topeka to face Topeka West on Thursday.
