Follow live coverage as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese begin their second season in the WNBA

Q2 3:38 - Fever 36, Sky 25

Clark and Boston both hit midrange jumpers to pad Indiana's lead. Boston then stuffs Onyenwere's layup for her third block of the day.

A big ovation as the Indiana Pacers are shown in attendance here. The Eastern Conference Finals begin Wednesday.

The thing that's already apparent with the Fever is added spacing. This is what bringing in sound pros such as Bonner and Howard can really give you. Most teams are going to have play honest against the Fever (outside of the rare teams with five great on-ball defenders) and that's going to give shooters such as Clark and Mitchell an extra spilt second. And that extra split second is what turns good shooters into great shooters.

Q2 7:42 - Fever 28, Sky 23

DeWanna Bonner with the pickpocket on Angel Reese and breakaway layup, perhaps reminding unfamiliar Fever fans that she's one of the most versatile defenders in the WNBA. The Sky call a timeout to regroup.

A little too much point forward from Reese for my taste. Her handle isn't quite tight enough to withstand pressure. I would rather her give up the ball if the transition opportunity isn't there than initiate in the half court.

Q2 8:15 - Fever 26, Sky 23

Angel Reese made only three 3-pointers all of last season, and never took more than three 3s in a single game. She's already taken two 3-pointers tonight, making one. It's safe to expect her to have some new shooting career-highs this season.

Both teams missed a few layups in the first quarter, so I'd expect finishing to be a topic in each huddle as the Fever and Sky get ready to resume play.

Pretty impressed with Indiana's defense thus far. Closing out hard on the perimeter, rotating, communicating, and most importantly, getting back in transition. Night and day from last year's Fever.

Kelsey Mitchell has the best first step in the WNBA. She just put Elizabeth Williams in a blender before drawing the foul as she drove through the lane. She's up to a game-high nine points.

End of Q1 - Fever 22, Sky 17

Chicago has missed 11 of its last 13 shots. A scoring drought of 3:08 ends as Williams makes one of two free throws.

Reese then has an opportunity to end the first quarter with a layup but can't get it to go.

Poor Ariel Atkins. Caitlin Clark takes a breather, but all that means is Atkins has to move over to guard Kelsey Mitchell.

Q1 1:50 - Fever 21, Sky 16

Mitchell makes a great play to push the ball ahead to Howard, but she misses a simple layup. The Fever have missed several easy shots from close range already.

Q1 3:50 - Sky 15, Fever 14

Right on cue, naturally, Atkins makes Chicago's first 3-pointer of the afternoon. Allen adds a bucket on the following Sky possession and the visitors retake the lead.

Q1 4:56 - Fever 14, Sky 10

We reach the first commercial break with the home team leading by four. The Sky have missed their first four 3-point attempts.

Fever forward Natasha Howard might be the most overqualified fifth option in the W. All she's had to do today is wait for a small to get switched onto her and then finish over the top. Kudos to Clark and Bonner for finding her quickly both times.

One of new head coach Tyler Marsh's keys for Chicago's offense this season is to give his bigs more space on offense. Already, we've seen a less clogged paint with Reese and Cardoso screening and diving more than just waiting for post touches by the block.

Q1 6:00 - Sky 10, Fever 9

Chicago goes on a mini 6-0 run to take the lead. Clark is shooting 1-3 so far, hitting her first 3-pointer of the season.

I'm fascinated by the expected jump Kamilla Cardoso takes in Year 2. She's only four years removed from playing at Syracuse, before she transferred to South Carolina and became a national figure. She's not close to whatever her ceiling will be. Bigs often develop late and she's just 24 years. The Sky, excuse the pun, is literally the limit.

Ariel Atkins opens the game guarding Caitlin Clark. The Sky acquired Atkins, a two-time All-Star, in an offseason trade with the Mystics.
