CEDARVILLE, Ohio (WKEF) -- An update on the condition of a local university student and his father was released after a plane crash in early March. According to our sister station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Local 21 , it was announced by a hospital spokesperson that Cedarville University student Judah White, and his father, Matthew White, are in stable condition. On March 9, Matthew was flying a small engine that was intended to land him and his four passengers safely at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport but he crashed into the Brethren Village Retirement Community parking lot that afternoon, leaving all five passengers to be transported to the burn center for treatment. The passengers on the flight consisted of Matthew’s family. They were aboard the plane to return Judah to school after spring break. According to Air Traffic Control, they received a transmission from Matthew requesting to return to the airport because of an open door. Shortly after, the plane turned sideways and crashed. All of the passengers survived the crash with injuries and burns. The members of the White family involved in the crash were in critical condition until March 27. The Federal Aviation Adminisration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
