(undated) -- Following the completion of the State Tournament March 15th, it was announced that Alexandria Area High School's Hadley Thul is one of six finalists for the prestigious 2025 Miss Minnesota Basketball award.

Dozens of outstanding girls from around the state were nominated for this year's Miss Minnesota Basketball award. The field was initially narrowed to 34 candidates in January. Hadley Thul from Alexandria and five others now make up the field of finalists for the title of Miss Minnesota Basketball, which will be awarded on Friday, April 4th in Northfield as part of the Girls' Basketball All-Star weekend.

Hadley joins an elite group of finalists, all of whom played in the 2025 State Girls' Basketball Tournament. The full list of finalists is noted below.

Hadley Thul will be known as one of the finest and most accomplished players to ever wear the Alexandria basketball jersey. She played in 129 Varsity games in her career and scored 2,122 points....an average of nearly 17 per game. Her career point total ranks her second in program history. In her years representing the Cardinals, Hadley sank 150 three-point shots, with an accuracy of 37.3 percent. She shot better than 50 percent from the floor for her career.

In this photo, Hadley Thul is shown releasing a jump shot during Alexandria's 60-40 victory over DeLaSalle on March 12th, 2025 in the Class AAA State Tournament game inside Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis. Teammates Allie Haabala (far right, with jersey number 33) , Kate Hennessy (jersey number 43) and MaCee Linow (jersey number 21) are also watching the shot take flight.

By grabbing a dozen boards in her final prep game against Cretin-Derham Hall at State, Hadley finished with 1,007 career rebounds, which has her at the top of the list for Alexandria. She is the only the 86th Minnesota player in the half-century history of girls' basketball to score more than 2,000 career points and finish with more than 1,000 rebounds. 398 of her points were scored at the free throw line, where she converted with better than 63 percent accuracy.

Hadley's career numbers also include 323 steals (an average of nearly three per game), 316 assists, 103 blocked shots, and close to 400 pass deflections, which disrupt an opponent's offense.

Hadley Thul and teammate Allie Haabala will join Alexandria Head Coach Wendy Kohler for the Minnesota Girls' Basketball All-Star Series April 4th and 5th. The banquet at the Grand Event Center in Northfield on April 4th will introduce the 40 players and support staff participating in the series. The announcement of Miss Minnesota Basketball will be a highlight of the Friday evening banquet. Games on Saturday, April 5th for the All-Star Series will start at 1 PM in the West Gymnasium on the campus of Carleton College.
